Politics: Heathen?

Alert reader (I hope) SAA noticed this little nugget in the Washington Post's Mike Allen-written presidential blowjob today about Bush's appearance in Qatar. Buried among all the abandoning of actual journalistic standards was a quote that should raise some eyebrows:
Frank's senior enlisted man, Sgt. Major Dwight Brown told the troops before Bush's appearance, "I don't want any damn catcalls from the crowd. We have the president of the United States coming to tell us what a great job we did destroying those heathen up in northern Iraq."

When I looked up "heathen" in the dictionary, I got this:
One who adheres to the religion of a people or nation that does not acknowledge the God of Judaism, Christianity, or Islam.

But that can't be what that ignoramus bigot meant, right. I mean, anybody willing to use the phrase "destroying those heathen" isn't going to notice that whoever he destroyed would probably have fallen under the latter of these three gods, right? So maybe the racist is just an asshole and he meant the second definition I found:
One who is regarded as irreligious, uncivilized, or unenlightened.

There. That's better. I hate to mince hairs when dealing with racists, but sometimes it's hard to resist.
